How to Start a Biography
How to Start a BiographyThe number one way to start a biography is with the research paper. Now, you might think that what I am talking about is doing research. If you are just starting out in your career as a biographer, then by all means, do a lot of research.Have you ever been on a career assessment questionnaire that asked you about your interests and hobbies? I did it when I was in my mid-twenties and it wasn't pretty. However, it did give me some insight into how I was approaching this career path.If I had not done this, I would have lost interest in a particular topic or a personality type that I don't have much time for. In other words, when you begin your research paper, you are basically telling the employer what they want to hear, right? If you've always wanted to be a sports writer, but you're not, all you really need to do is to write a couple of articles on the subject, write one (or two) essays on the subject, and then write a 'best of' list of the subjects you wrote. Y ou can actually turn this article into a mini-biography, complete with blurbs, covers, and so on. You can make it sound like a literary masterpiece and promote yourself by putting it online, in books, and anywhere else you can.If you're a business person, and you'd like to start up a retail store, the only way to do it is to start a whole new company by coming up with your own ideas. Just like you would come up with a company's new logo, colors, packaging, etc., you can come up with your own personality types and help your current company shine. If you've never done it before, start bydoing a bit of research. For example, if you want to write a biography about somebody, find out everything you can about that person, their life, and what kind of activities they've done. There are many websites that provide lists of names, addresses, and other information regarding them.As you go along with your research, and as you have the opportunity to meet them in person, you'll notice certain sim ilarities or differences in their personalities and ways of doing things. When you make notes about how you felt when you first met them, you'll be able to incorporate these differences into your writing. So, do a bit of research, get an idea of what kind of person you want to write a biography about, and start writing a biography. After you've started, you'll begin to develop your own styles and start finding your own way to tell a story.
